U.S. Crisis Care is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation (Secretary of State registration number C2535840). It was founded in 2003 by and for local crisis care programs. Its legal name is Community Chaplaincy Inc., though it is a non-sectarian organization. It is tax exempt as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Through USCC, independent local programs collaborate to share resources and best practices, in order to better help impacted survivors rebuild healthy, fulfilling lives. USCC also brings the knowledge and experience of successful crisis programs to communities that are just developing, or considering developing, their own program.
